'Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain' glitch allows more weapon customization options
"Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" reportedly has a new glitch that allows players to customize weapons beyond the original options.
YouTuber jasonLJ posted a video demonstrating how he was able to add a 100-round belt and suppressor to a rocket launcher by taking advantage of the new glitch discovered in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. The bug also enabled him to fire silent rockets without immediately alerting the enemy guards, according to PC Gamer.
Since Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is a very large game, a few glitches and problems are expected to come up every now and then. The latest bug to be discovered is actually a cool one, which allows players to break their own game without crashing it, VG 24/7 reports.
The newly discovered glitch in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain apparently allows players to choose restricted modules when they use LMB rather than the spacebar or enter key on their PC. This command adds suppressors to rocket launchers because it makes the system think that the player is modifying a different weapon capable of holding an attachment when it actually cannot hold it, the report explains.
To trigger the glitch, players have to select a weapon compatible with their desired attachment. They have to select and equip their chosen attachment. Then, they will have to exit from the weapon and select a rocket launcher. The next step is to left-click on the attachment's category, then skip the enter key or the spacebar. The left-click on the chosen attachement on the previous gun enables the bug. If the word "none" appears, then it means the glitch is not working, Games Radar instructs.
While the glitch has been found to work on PC, it is not yet clear if the same commands can be replicated on gaming consoles, the report adds.
While the glitch gives players more fun and excitement, it also raises concerns about the bug affecting the FOB multiplayer invasions in the game. It is quite easy to trigger the weapons customization glitch, but if done incorrectly, it could also release a series of ugly consequences. So, while the patch for the Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain bug has not yet been released, players are cautioned to be careful during invasions.
