'Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain' updates and release date: PC Version will not allow preloading
With the release of "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" soon approaching, fans are expressing their high expectations for the upcoming title. However, PC gamers will be unhappy to know that the game is not available for preloading.
The game has been facing drama between the developers Konami and Hideo Kojima. Recently, the game's cover was released for a second time, which got rid of Hideo Kojima's name. This then confirmed the end of the partnership between the two. With Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain as their last title together, gamers have big hopes for the game.
Unfortunately, the title will not be available for preloading prior to the launch. PC gamers have the habit of preloading games before they launch, in order to avoid the slow download once they have been released. The release date usually finds a slow loading speed that could take up to a week to finish. According to Gamespot, the community manager of Metal Gear Solid 5, Robert Allen Peeler, announced that the game will only be available for download once it is released online. The PC version was supposed to be released on Sept. 15; however, it was moved to an earlier fate, in order to coincide with its release on X-Box and PlayStation 4.
Meanwhile, those who preorder the game on X-Box One or PlayStation 4 will have the luxury of preloading prior to the release. Peeler did not explain why it will not be available for PC. The game is expected to bring features that will upgrade the day and night cycles. It will showcase different weather effects that will influence the game. The multiplayer mode will also allow players to engage with other player bases.
As reported by Gotta Be Mobile, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain will be released on Sept. 1 for X-Box one, PlayStation 4, and PC.
