'Metal Gear Solid V' Patch News, Update: Quiet Bug Fix Coming; Forum Users Disclosed New Title Supposed To Have A Third Chapter
The latest patch for Konami's "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" has been announced by the studio this week and according to reports, it aims to address a number of mission issues as well as the bug connected to Quiet. Meanwhile, new information surfaced indicating the title's supposedly third chapter.
First off, a report from Gamespot.com said that the new patch will arrive with a number of fixes related to the bug brought about when a player chooses Quiet as his/her companion for Mission 29 or Mission 42. Prior to the patch, players reported having their save files corrupted when they have the female assassin/sniper as a buddy.
Aside from that, Konami is releasing a buff which, according to Gamespot, sought to increase the player's daily login bonuses. The perk will be available for the duration of the upcoming annual Tokyo Game show event which kicks off this Thursday, September 17 and culminates on Sunday, Sept. 20.
On related news, it has been found out by players over at Facepunch forums that the original plan for the game title was really to have a "far larger, more substantial" game content.
Citing the report from Endgadget.com, it is said that forum users found a heap of files in the PC version of MGSV which "show that the title was supposed to have not only more prominent characters but an entire third chapter."
The site engaged in these speculations by taking clues from the released game's "abrupt end" which clearly hinted that a third section is needed to bring a proper conclusion it deserved.
"…the sheer scope of what was cut, combined with Konami's attempt to divest itself of Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima, doesn't exactly paint a pretty picture," Endgadget wrote.
"It hints that the publisher wanted to get MGSV (and its relationship with Kojima) finished as quickly as possible, even if it involved making some big sacrifices."
