'Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain' Release Date on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, 360 News: Hideo Kojima's Last MGS Game

Hideo Kojima, the creator of the "Metal Gear Solid" game series, will be making his last MGS game. The next game in the series, "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain," will be coming out in September 2015 and Kojima has recently confirmed that it will be his last. Apparently, Kojima is being eased out of the franchise by game publisher Konami. The differences between them have been confirmed recently in gaming news websites.

Konami has already announced that they are working on the next "Metal Gear Solid" game and they are starting their search for a director and game developers, confirming Kojima's non-involvement in the series after this last one.

In the meantime, Kojima has repeatedly indicated that he is committed to the upcoming "The Phantom Pain" game, so much so that he is diligently sharing with fans some tidbits as he is developing the game. The game is a sequel to "Metal Gear Solid IV: Ground Zeroes," and thus continues the story of the lead character, Snake.

Another report in WCCFtech, compared the graphical quality of some screenshots from the previous "Ground Zeroes" game and from the new game and said that there are significant graphical improvements. Improvements were observed in the "lighting and other visual assets," and in "texture detail and lighting effects." The new game also took into account that this game does happen nine years after the events of the previous game, thus the protagonist looks visibly older.

The story finds Snake who had just woken up from a coma. He sets out a search for the men responsible for the destruction of his former group Militaires Sans Frontieres. He is helped by a newly formed group of mercenaries, but he needs to build up his fort and forces along the way.

The game is set to launch on September 1, 2015 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation, the Xbox One and the Xbox 360. PC gamers need to wait a few weeks to get their hands on the game, which comes out on September 15, 2015 for the PC.
