Hideo Kojima Speaks Out About "Metal Gear Survive"

Konami's "Metal Gear Survive" was called out by Hideo Kojima during the Tokyo Game Show 2016.

"Metal Gear Survive" was unveiled by Konami during Gamescom in August and is supposedly a stealth game for PS4, PC and Xbox One. "Metal Gear" franchise creator Hideo Kojima called it out because Konami added zombies in "Metal Gear Survive" which was reportedly out of place and character for the franchise.

Hideo Kojima was asked by IGN whether "Metal Gear Survive" came from him and the creator said that he has nothing to do with it and questioned the involvement of zombies as the "Metal Gear" franchise is centered on social and political issues.

Kojima was asked during the Tokyo Games Show 2016 for his newest game "Death Stranding." During the presentation, he was joined by former "Metal Gear" mechanical designer Yoji Shinkawa. When asked by the outlet if he had any involvement with "Metal Gear Survive", Shinkawa joked that if he was involved, the game would certainly feature mechs. "Metal Gear Survive" is the first game from Konami that was created and developed since Kojima's exit from the company in late 2015.

'Metal Gear Survive' News, Update, Release Date, Price

According to Game Spot, "Metal Gear Survive" will reportedly be released in 2017 for PS4, PC and Xbox One. The setting of the game will reportedly be after the events of Ground Zeroes but it will be in the same timeline when "Metal Gear Solid V" happened.

In "Metal Gear Survive," the members of the Militaires Sans Frontières are reportedly transported to another reality via a wormhole where they will have to fight zombies in order to survive. The game can be played in a multi-player co-op of up to 4. "Metal Gear Survive" has a stash of new weapons that can be used to fight off the zombies. The game may also involve looking for food and equipment based on the trailer released by Konami.

"Metal Gear Survive will offer a fresh take on the series' famed stealth elements," Konami Europe President Tomotada Tashiro said, as noted by IGN. "but within a unique co-op setting that is designed for a truly engrossing multiplayer experience."

"Metal Gear Survive" is estimated to be priced around $30, similar to how much "Ground Zeroes" cost. It is currently not known if Big Boss, Snake and his clones will appear in the game. Watch the 15-minute game play for "Metal Gear Survive" below:
