Mexico vs Italy Live Stream Free Football: Watch Online Confederations Cup 2013 Soccer
Mexico vs Italy in the FIFA Confederations Cup 2013 takes place on Sunday night in the Estadio do Maracana in Rio De Janeiro, with Mexico looking to take down one of Europe's elite teams. The game kicks off at 3 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).
In team news Javier Hernandez will start and pre-match talk suggested that El Tri would resort to a 4-2-3-1 formation, meaning it likely that forward Aldo De Nigris would lose his starting place.
Meanwhile for Italy, striker Mario Balotelli was doubtful for tonight's game after he was forced to pull out of training on Friday due to pain in his right thigh. Andrea Pirlo is also set to win his landmark 100th cap for Italy.
Mexico are hoping that a string of good results can help raise their morale after some poor form of late. Their World Cup 2014 qualifying hopes have taken a bit of a knock after their bad form this year. If they don't make the World Cup next year it would be a rare occasion that Mexico have not made football's international showpiece. Only Brazil, Germany, Argentina and Italy have qualified for the World Cup more times than Mexico.
Mexico's main problem has been in front of goal – and they have drawn five of six games in the final stage of qualifying. Four of those draws have been 0-0 deadlocks, which will be hugely concerning for Mexico, and they will be hoping their strikers can gain some confidence from the Confederations Cup.
Mexico currently occupy the third and final automatic Concacaf qualification spot but have played a game more than most of their rivals. Recently they were booed off the pitch after this week's draw against Costa Rica.
