They come into the game on just 3-4, which in a weak AFC North division is enough to capture them second spot right now. However, they know they have to improve and need to string a series of wins together to try and get closer to division leaders, the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are on 5-2. That's a long way off but getting themselves back to an even .500 with a win today will be their top priority, and then they can take things from there.
Tonight's game could be a low scoring affair as we have two offenses that have struggled badly until now.
The Dolphins are second-worst in the NFL when it come to offense and getting points on the board, and they average a lowly 15.3 points per game. Miami are rock bottom when it comes to yards per game, where they are only managing 261.8 yards each outing.
The Ravens are only slightly better, and are posting just 277.6 yards per game, and scoring just 18.6 points per game.
However, despite their terrible offensive stats, the Dolphins have a reasonably strong record till now, winning four of their six games to date. The Ravens meanwhile have lost four of their last five games.
So this may not be a shootout, but it makes for an intriguing contest with both teams in positions where they will feel they simply must win.
