Miami Heat vs Brooklyn Nets takes place on Friday night as the NBA 2013 regular season continues to get going. The Nets lost their opening game of the season, where as the Heat have had a stuttering start, winning one and losing one so far. Both will be desperate to claim the win tonight in their showdown at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The game will start at 8 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).

The Nets have much higher ambitions this season, and owner Mikhail Prokhorov has got his wallet out and is spending a lot of money in the hope of turning his team into championship contenders.

The Nets now have a $100 million payroll, and will be taking part in their first home game of the season tonight against "the team to beat." If they can compete with the two-time defending champions, the Heat, then they will have hope that they can achieve something this season.

In the offseason they've brought in aging veterans Kevin Garnett (37), Paul Pierce (36) and Jason Terry (36) from Boston, and Nets fans will be hoping that they can give experience to the team to make big strides forward this season.

Coming into this game the Nets have a 13 game losing streak against the Heat, and they will have to snap that record tonight if they can even start to think about taking Miami down from their Eastern Conference perch.

The Nets didn't get off to the best of starts this season, and lost 98-94 at Cleveland on Wednesday. Brook Lopez scored 21 points and Pierce added 17, but ultimately the loss of point guard Deron Williams, who lasted only 22 minutes due to his ankle sprain, saw them fall short.
