At the moment, the Pacers are third in the Central Division with a 19-14 record, as they are 4.0 games behind the leaders the Cleveland Cavaliers at the moment. They are also behind the Chicago Bulls in the standings as the Pacers are above the Detroit Pistons and Milwaukee Bucks.
On the other hand, the Heat are slightly in control of the Southeast Division as they are on the top spot with a 20-13 record. Close behind them are the Atlanta Hawks, while the Orlando Magic, Charlotte Hornets and the Washington Wizards complete the rest of the division.
Already meeting twice this year, the Pacers took the first game when they played in Indianapolis as they erased a double-digit deficit to win 90-87.
Indiana found themselves down early in the first quarter but bounced back to tie the ballgame by halftime. In the second half the two teams battled tightly until the Pacers edged their rivals.
Paul George had a spectacular game with 36 points and 12 rebounds in the victory, while Chris Bosh lifted the Heat with 21 points and 11 rebounds in the defeat.
Their next meeting was not as close as the Pacers took a 2-0 series lead with a 96-83 win. Miami had a slim lead by halftime before a big third quarter shifted the momentum to Indiana as they eventually coasted to a win.
Monta Ellis was Indiana's best player with 24 points, while Bosh had another double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds.
