Miami Heat vs. San Antonio Spurs: Preview

Two powerhouse teams from the Eastern and Western Conference will be clashing this Wednesday, March 23rd.

The third-seeded Miami Heat will be taking on the second-seeded San Antonio Spurs at the AT&T Center in San Antonio.

Both teams have only met each other once this season. And in the said game, it was coach Gregg Popovich and his squad that emerged victorious with an 18-point edge. Final score was 119-101.

Apart from the first quarter, which ended with the Heat leading by four, it was the Spurs who took control of the game from the second period, onwards. Forward LaMarcus Aldridge was the main man of the night for the Spurs, scoring 28 points, while adding in four rebounds and four assists, on 10 out of 16 field goal shooting, through 32 minutes of playing time.

Fellow forward Kawhi Leonard also piled in significant numbers, scoring 23 points, along with nine rebounds, four assists, and three steals, 11 out of 17 field goal shooting, through 33 minutes of playing time.

For the Heat, on the other hand, superstar franchise player Dwyane Wade carried the cudgels for his team, piling in 20 points and five assists, shooting 9 out of 12 from the field, though 30 minutes of playing time.

Big man Chris Bosh also put up some good numbers, scoring 18 points, five rebounds, and two assists, shooting 6 out of 12 from the field, through 34 minutes of playing time.

The Heat are currently bannering a win-loss slate of 40-29, and are coming off a victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday, with a final score of 122-101. They have won three of their last five games.

The Spurs, on the other hand, hold a record of 59-11, but are entering the upcoming contest with a loss against the Charlotte Hornets on Monday, with a final score of 91-88. They have won four of their last five games, most notably against defending champions Golden State Warriors on Saturday, with a final score of 87-79.
