Washington recently battled the Dallas Mavericks but fell 116-104 as their defence could not contain Wesley Matthews who put up a great number after 48 minutes of the match.
If they want to get a win over the Heat, they should consider stepping up their play on the defensive end as the Heat have a lot of stars who can explode for points and can easily outscore the Wizards despite having a decent offensive team as well.
Miami are on a two game winning streak after toppling top teams like the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Cleveland Cavaliers in their last two outings.
While the Cavs went without LeBron James, the Heat still put the pressure on their rivals as they won comfortably 99-84.
This is the first of their four total meetings as they are rivals in the division and the winner of this series opener should help determine how the rest of their meetings pan out.
