Michael Buble's Wife Has False Alarm; Baby Boy Due 'Any Moment'

Michael Buble and wife Luisiana Lopilato are expecting their first child and thought the baby might make an appearance last week. It turned out to be a was a false alarm, and the soon-to-be parents are still waiting for their little boy to arrive.

"It's a boy and he's due at any moment," Buble told the Associated Press. "Literally any moment. We're close. She had a false alarm a couple days ago, and she had about seven hours of labor, so we know that it could happen at any time."

The singer was supposed to perform on the "Today" show but canceled his appearance in order to stay close to his wife. He apologized to fans, and to members of the "Today" show staff and explained that it was nothing personal but that family comes first.

"I was so glad to come and get to sing at Rockefeller for all you beautiful people and all you fans, but fortunately and unfortunately, there's something really big that's really close in my life. It's right here," Buble said as a camera showed Lopilato in the room with him at home. "So I won't be there, but I'm gonna see you guys really soon on the road, and I'm gonna be bringing somebody extra with me."

It's extremely important for Buble to be with his wife, given that English is not her first language. He told "Entertainment Tonight" that he had her family staying with them so that she would be more comfortable when the time came for her to give birth.

"I don't know what to expect," Buble said. "I'm just really actually enjoying it. To be honest with you, neither of us are anxious. We're just excited. We can't wait to know what it's like. We can't wait to meet this little guy."

Buble is scheduled to kick off his upcoming tour in Chicago, Ill. in September. As promised, he will be bringing the entire family with him as he travels the world on tour.
