Michael J. Fox and Taylor Swift Dating His Son: 'No...Just back off' Says Actor

Taylor Swift has received an apology from Michael J. Fox after the actor commented in an interview about how the singer had built her career by writing songs about her exes.

During the 70th Annual Golden Globes last Sunday, Tina Fey joked that a newly single Taylor Swift should stay away from the eldest of Michael J. Fox's sons, Sam.

Fox was previously asked about whether he would approve of Swift courting his son; the actor suggested that he'd prefer not to see it.

"No. No...Just back off," he told Vulture blog, a part of New York Magazine. "I don't keep up with it all. But Taylor Swift writes songs about everybody she goes out with, right? What a way to build a career."

Swift broke off her relationship with Harry Styles recently, sparking some to question whether she would write a new song about him and their failed relationship. In the past, Swift has written songs about a number of her celebrity exes.

If his son brought Swift home "I wouldn't even know who she was," Fox said.

On Friday, Swift wrote on her Twitter account that Fox had apologized. She suggested that fans had not been amused by the actor's comments. She did however, forgive the actor.

"Hey everybody, Michael J. Fox got in touch with me today and we are good," she wrote. "Thank you for having my back."

On Swift's first album, at least four of the songs were about actual ex-boyfriends according to Swiftipedia. "December" is rumored to be about Taylor Lautner and "I Knew You Were Trouble" about John Mayer.
