Michelle and Barack Obama Spotted at French Polynesian Resort

Since leaving his presidential office at the White House, Barack Obama and his wife Michelle have been getting a lot of new perspectives by going to different places. Recently, the former U.S. president and first lady were spotted enjoying their vacation at a resort in French Polynesia.

Barack was the first to arrive in Tahiti on March 15, holing up at a luxurious resort known as The Brando. Over the weekend, Michelle flew out to join him on his vacation. The two reportedly spent Sunday in the lagoon of the island.

A photo of Michelle paddle boarding at the resort surfaced online, showing how she has stayed true to her fitness routines. While she paddle-boarded, Barack swam in the water. Accompanied by two boats carrying security personnel, Barack and Michelle rode a small boat out to the lagoon and saw the sights of the resort.

Located on the island of Tetiaroa, 30 miles from Tahiti, The Brando has 35 villas, a strip of exclusive white sand beach and a plunge pool. Before it was purchased by Marlon Brando in 1967, it used to be a retreat for the chiefs and kings of the country.

While the Obamas appeared to be enjoying their vacation a lot, an insider said getting away does not mean that they are already shutting themselves off from the things that are happening in the United States. In fact, inside the villa rented by the Obamas are a media room and stable Wi-Fi connection so they can still stay connected to the outside world while on their getaway.

The Obamas have been visiting places with warmer climates since leaving the White House. According to reports, the couple will head back to the United States soon after their month-long trip. Michelle is scheduled to make an appearance at an architecture conference that will be held in Florida on April 27.
