Microsoft Adds Three New Games to Xbox One Backward Compatibility

Microsoft's Xbox One Backward Compatibility catalog grew by three titles recently. The company has updated its Backward Compatibility page with "Alan Wake," "PAC-MAN," "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night" as the new games joining its Xbox One backward compatible titles.

"Alan Wake"

Joining its spin-off "Alan Wake's American Nightmare," "Alan Wake" comes in time for "Quantum Break's" nearing release date next month. All three are creations of Remedy Games. "Alan Wake" and its add-on packs "The Signal" and "The Writer" will come free with "Quantum Break" and its 500 GB Special Edition bundle. Meanwhile, "Alan Wake's American Nightmare" will come with every pre-order of the upcoming action-adventure shooter.

"Castlevania: Symphony of the Night"

The platform-adventure action RPG from developer Digital Eclipse and publisher Konami can now be played on Microsoft's current-generation console. "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night" debuted to Sony's PlayStation before becoming available to the Xbox One platform as the first arcade title that exceeded the 50 MB cap meant to support owners of the Core Xbox 360.

"Pac-man"

Bandai Namco's arcade classic "Pac-Man" joins "Ms. Pac-Man," "Pac-Man: Championship Edition," and "Pac-Man: Championship Edition DX+" this month. The last two were part of the initial list of games that rolled out with the Xbox One Backward Compatibility feature back in November.

More games are expected to be added to the catalog as soon as they're ready. These include "Call of Duty: Black Ops," "Skate 3," "Halo Wars," "BioShock," "BioShock 2," "BioShock Infinite," and more. The last three are rumored to be available in a bundle called "BioShock; The Collection," which turned up recently in a Taiwanese ratings board.

The Xbox One Backward Compatibility library includes a total of 141 games as of this writing. Last month, Microsoft added "Carcassonne," "Geometry Wars Evolved," "Lego Batman," "Sam & Max," "Trials HD," and "Alan Wake's American Nightmare."
