Microsoft Band 2 Update Includes Additional Tiles, Improved Notification; Priced at $249.99
Updates for Microsoft's fitness wearable Band 2 and Health app have arrived fresh from the BUILD 2016 event and they are something that users will really delight in as the company brought in a more diligent way to keep track of the health.
According to a report by Phone Arena, the update to the Microsoft Band 2 can now let users have an additional of 20 tiles more. With this increase in number, users can now pick which apps they want to send notifications to their band. It's a wonderful change for those who do not like getting every single app notification, which means that there is an improved notification management. GSM Arena noted that this particular feature is solely listed in the change-log of Health app's Windows store listing.
The tiles can also be utilized for communication, social media, news and health. Aside from that, there is more text show in notifications from Facebook, Twitter, email and more. Geeky Gadgets also reported that the health app can now let users challenge their Facebook friends who also use the Microsoft Health app for a range of activities such as cycling, running, cardio, running and steps. Users will be able to see who can run the fastest or who will be able to pedal their bike the longest. There will be a leaderboard that will be set up to track the activities of each user.
Morning News USA also wrote that in order for users to enjoy all of the update, they will need to install the new version of the Microsoft Health app on their mobile and then sync it to their band. It's available for iOS, Windows and Android.
The Microsoft Band 2 is available at the Microsoft Store and has a price tag of $249.99. Those who are interested to get it at a lower price should watch out for price reduction or promos as Microsoft cuts the price of the device so often.
