Microsoft Drops the Prices of the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL

Recently, the company is doling out attractive offers by dropping the prices of the smartphones. It is speculated that Microsoft is attempting to clear its inventory of the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL to make way for a new smartphone.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 is now priced at $400 after being discounted $150. The Lumia 950 XL, the bigger one of the two, is now $450 after having $200 slashed off its original price. Furthermore, Microsoft is adding a Display Dock worth $100 for free to anyone who will purchase these smartphones.
Geeky Gadgets adds that the reason why Microsoft slashed the prices of these handsets may be because they didn't quite sell as they expected, considering it houses a Windows OS. The company is offering these deals on the Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL until August 14. The outlet speculates that Microsoft may only be removing the free Docking Display offer until the set time.
Microsoft Lumia 950, Lumia 950 XL Specs
According to Mobile Syrup, the Lumia 950 has a Snapdragon 808 processor and houses a 32GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 200GB with a MicroSD. It also has 3GB RAM and a 3,000 mAh battery. Its rear camera is 20MP with Carl Zeiss optics and image stabilization.
The Lumia 950 XL is built slightly bigger with an octacore Snapdragon 810 processor. Like its smaller sibling, it has a 3GB RAM with an expandable 32GB internal memory. It also has the same 20MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera as well. The battery capacity is slightly longer at 3,340 mAh with Qi wireless charging support.
Microsoft 'Surface Phone' Rumors
One of the many speculated reasons why Microsoft is trying to get rid of its Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL stocks may be because of an upcoming "Surface Phone," according to ZDNet. The company's 2015 flagships come with many known issues and it is rumored that the new smartphone may be an improved version with better features and upgrades.
