Microsoft Reveals New 1TB Xbox One Model and New Features
Even before E3 2015 is here, Microsoft has revealed one of the big things that the company is bringing to the conference. After Amazon accidentally revealed a few days ago that there is a 1 terabyte model of the Xbox One, Microsoft has confirmed that they are indeed bringing such a model in the market.
The reveal was supposed to have been done during Microsoft's media briefing at the E3 2015, but it seems that they will have one less thing to unveil during their media event.
According to a report in Tech Times, the Xbox One will soon come in a 1 terabyte model. The other good news is that Microsoft is not getting rid of the 500 GB model, which is the earlier model of the console. This gives consumers two choices when they are intending to buy the Xbox One. With a bigger hard drive, serious gamers can keep most of their favorite games loaded onto the Xbox. Most of the new games today come in large file sizes so this will address the issue easily.
Aside from the bigger hard drive, the new console will reportedly come with some upgrades. One of these is a 3.5 mm headphone jack, which means that any headset with the appropriate plug will work with the Xbox One controller. This is important, especially for those who prefer not to use the Microsoft Xbox One headset which was the only one you can use on the console.
The Xbox one controller, according to the report, will also be non-exclusive to the new system. One can purchase the new Matte Black controller or the "Special Forces" model on its own.
The 1 terabyte model will sell at $400, according to the report. The 500 GB model will be available at a permanent discount of $350. Serious gamers will likely spend an additional $50 for the additional storage, while casual gamers will be happy to get the cheaper model.
