A year after the Microsoft Surface 3 was launched, the tech giant has decided to stop producing the low-cost tablet which is expected to be out of the market soon.
An exclusive from ZDNet revealed that the company will stop producing the Microsoft Surface 3 by December this year, but there is still no concrete news if a replacement is coming. But looking back, the Surface 3 has become a favorite for many users because of the following features.

The Surface 3 tablet is armed with Windows 8.1, which enables users to utilize applications such as Photoshop, Chrome, iTunes and Steam, among others. With its $499 price tag, Microsoft fans can take home a device with an Intel Atom chip.
2. Big Display, Better Aspect Ratio
Earlier Surface models had a 10.6-inch display but with an awkward 16:9 aspect ratio. However, the Surface 3 introduced a 10.8-inch screen and a 3:2 aspect ratio. This helps users to easily switch from using the gadget as a tablet and laptop.
3. Stronger Kickstand
The flip for this tablet is made stronger to avoid sliding the device and position it at a comfortable angle for usage everywhere.
4. Micro USB charging
When launched last year, the Microsoft Surface 3 came with a micro USB charging capability. This means that users can charge the tablet using the usual phone charger apart from its full-size port and micro-SD reader.
5. Tablet Packs Power
The Microsoft Surface 3 is packed with enough power that's comparable to a full-powered tablet or laptop with 4GB RAM. However, games and bulky applications like Photoshop lower the performance and power of the device.
A Follow-Up to Surface 3?
Despite all these great offerings, the Surface 3 was not as successful as the Surface Book and the Surface Pro 4. Microsoft could abandon this product line to come up with other income-generating ideas.
