Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Release Date, News & Updates: Specs and Features Rumors Superior to Apple's 2016 iPad Pro? [DETAILS]
Surface Pro 5 Allegedly More Superior than Apple iPad Pro 2016
There are no concrete details and information on Microsoft's Surface Pro 5, but the internet is rife with rumors of its specs and features.
Microsoft released the Surface Pro 4 for last year and it is rumored that they will be releasing the Surface Pro 5 within this year. However, other reports stated that the company is taking great effort to give the newest Surface Pro device great specs and features even at the risk of releasing it later on 2017.
Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Specs, Features, Rumors
The most prominent Surface Pro 5 rumor is the device getting an Intel Kaby Lake chip. However, since Intel will be reportedly releasing their processors at the end of the year, there is a big chance that the Surface Pro 5 will be released by 2017 instead of this year.
According to PC Advisor, whether or not the rumors of the Kaby Lake chips are true, Microsoft might be giving an announcement about the Surface Pro 5 by October this year. This is because the company has been consistent with their announcements and release dates so far. Furthermore, it is rumored that Microsoft is holding the Surface Pro 5 to make it a part of the big Windows 10 update called Redstone or RS2 early next year.
One of the rumored specs of the Surface Pro 5 is a stylus called the Surface Pen, which may be bundled with it. The device may also have 2K and 4K variants with an upgrade of 16GB of RAM. It may also ditch the old USB 3.0 port for a USB Type-C port as well.
Microsoft Makes Fun of Apple's 2016 iPad Pro in Commercial
Microsoft and Apple always had a rivalry and sometimes, their marketing ploys involve making fun of the other. In Microsoft's latest commercial for the Surface Pro 5, it can be seen that they made fun of Apple's latest iPad Pro commercial for its claim of being a computer, The Verge noted.
More specifically, Microsoft mocks iPad Pro's use of the term "computer" when it has no USB ports, Office desktop version, Intel processor and more. In the end, the Surface Pro 5 claims it to be better than Apple's 2016 iPad Pro.
