Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Specs, News and Release Date: No Show This Year as Company Releases Surface Pro 4 Ad? [DETAILS]
There Might be No Microsoft Surface Pro 5 This Year
The highly-awaited Microsoft Surface Pro 5 might not be coming this year or anytime soon.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release date may be delayed again and it may be available by 2017, according to the rumors. The delay rumors may be true after all as Microsoft apparently launched a new ad for the Surface Pro 4 last week.
Microsoft Releases Surface Pro 4 Ad for NFL Last Week
According to Windows Central, Microsoft has launched a new TV commercial for the Surface Pro 4 last week. It was aired during the opening game of the Carolina Panthers-Denver Broncos NFL and centers around Trey Brown and recruiting potential college football players.
In the commercial, the efficiency of the Surface Pro 4 was highlighted as the pro football scout stated that the device makes it easier for him to go through the football candidates. The Surface Pro 4's hybrid ability was also shown as Brown turned the laptop into a tablet in the commercial.
Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Specs, Release Date, News
With the rumored delay of the Surface Pro 5, it seems that its alleged specs of it having the Intel Kaby Lake processor may come true as well. Intel's chip won't be available until the end of this year and it was rumored that Microsoft intended to have the chips power the Surface Pro 5 to trump the competitors. Since the Kaby Lake chips cannot be shipped to them yet, Microsoft may be delaying the Surface Pro 5 for that reason.
As for the specs of the Surface Pro 5, with the Kaby Lake chips, it may be capable of having a 4K Ultra HD display with a 3840x2160 pixels display resolution, according to MNR Daily. It may also house a Polaris AMD GPU as well.
According to the International Business Times, if Microsoft intends to release the Surface Pro 5 by 2017, the company may have an event by October. If it will have a 2017 release date, the Surface Pro 5 will be expected to ship with the Windows 10.
Microsoft has not released any official statement regarding the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 nor have they confirmed about the existence of the device. It is also not confirmed if the company will be having a hardware launch event late next month.
