Miguel Cotto vs. Canelo Alvarez Fight News: Canelo says Cotto's style "does not affect him at all"
World middleweight title challenger Saul "Canelo" Alvarez remains highly confident with just two days before his fight against champion Miguel Cotto.
In a report by Boxingscene, the 25-year old former world light middleweight champion says he is laser focused on achieving victory, nothing else.
"I am 100% focused on this fight. My focus is winning this fight - it's very important," Alvarez said. "Whatever happens after this fight, will happen after this fight, but this is my primary focus."

Holding a record of 45-1-1 (with 32 victories by knockout), Alvarez is touted as one of the best boxers within the middleweight division range today. He will be fighting right at the limit against Cotto on Saturday night, aiming to bag the WBC, Ring Magazine and lineal titles.
He last saw action in May against American James Kirkland, where he won via a highlight reel third round knockout.
While he does hold an impressive record at such a young age, Alvarez still chooses not to belittle the task ahead of him.
"This is a very difficult fight - it's a 50/50 fight," he said. "I'm here, I'm ready to win, and I'm willing to win. All my fights are necessary to win."
One of the many differences that boxing pundits are looking at is the ten-year age advantage Alvarez holds over Cotto. Inversely, Cotto holds a generous amount of experience compared to Canelo.
But for the Mexican fighter, it is more of a clash of styles match-up, in which he noted that Cotto's particular fighting method is nothing he is worried about.
"You know what, that doesn't affect me [people saying Cotto did better]. Styles make fights. He may have done better - Cotto might have done better against Mayweather. However, I did better against Austin Trout, and Cotto didn't do that good against Austin Trout."
"All fights are different, all styles are different, so that's not going to affect me at all," he added. The fight takes place at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino on Saturday night.
