Mike Sorrentino in Rehab? 'The Situation' Reveals 'Prescription Medication Problem'

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino's rehab rumors turned out to be at least partially true, as the "Jersey Shore" reality star admitted that he needed help with a drug problem only a few days after flatly denying the gossip.

While Mike Sorrentino's Official Situation website denied claims, stating that "many sources have been falsely reporting stories about The Situation being in rehab," it also admits that the reality star has a "prescription medication problem."

Sources told TMZ that Sorrentino has been admitted to rehab, specifically Cirque Lodge in Utah. The program, located in the mountains of Sundance, Utah, is renowned for its privacy and effectiveness, treating many celebrities like Lindsay Lohan and Kirsten Dunst.

Before he could check into Cirque, though, "The Situation" had to go through detoxification for a drinking problem, alleges TMZ. The site reported that Mike is "very open" with other patients about his alcoholism, which seemingly is exacerbated by his constant clubbing and partying.

Mike Sorrentino's situation with rehab was originally denied by both the rep and the star, with Sorrentino calling attention to the story's source- TMZ- as reason why the rumor was not legitimate.

"Do NOT Believe Everything You Hear, Especially from TMZ," tweeted Sorrentino Wednesday morning.

His site also quoted the star, who attempted to blame the problem on "exhaustion," but curiously still mentioned the prescription drugs, but not alcoholism.

"I want to set the record straight. I have voluntarily taken steps to get control of a prescription medication problem I had due to exhaustion," wrote Sorrentino. "I have spent the past several weeks getting treatment for this problem and recuperating from my work and appearance schedule."

Sorrentino then went the extra mile, having his representative tell Radar that "[Mike] is not in rehab for substance abuse."

Either way, as the cast of "Jersey Shore" gears up for yet another season this summer, fans of the popular show are sure to see the outcome of his treatment.
