Miley Cyrus Comment Offensive To Jewish Community?
Miley Cyrus, the 20-year-old singer, may have upset the Jewish community recently.
When questioned about her popularity in an interview with Hunger TV recently, Cyrus made comments about Jewish men that some may deem as stereotypical.
"With magazines, with movies, it's always weird when things are targeted for young people yet they're driven by people that are like 40 years too old," Cyrus told Hunger TV. "It can't be like this 70 year old Jewish man that doesn't leave his desk all day, telling me what the clubs want to hear."

The comment caused some to question whether the singer was being anti-semitic.
"The age thing one can understand; did she have to make the old man she doesn't want advice from Jewish," a http://newsbusters.org report questioned. "Would she take his advice if he were Christian or Muslim? Or was Cyrus just advancing the tired anti-Semitic cliche that Jews run the media?"
The Jewish Press also posed similar questions about Cyrus' comments saying, "So Miley Cyrus thinks she's smarter than the powers-that-be in the music business. But does it make her an antisemite?"
Cyrus is no stranger to media scrutiny, and has been the face of controversy lately as a singer who has seemingly prided herself on her provocative appearance more than her music. The singer caused a stir during her MTV Video Music Awards performance, when she stripped down to a nude bikini while gyrating on married R&B singer Robin Thicke, 36.
While a number of people spoke out against the singer's performance and even called for prayer, Cyrus doesn't mind the negative attention. When Today host Matt Lauer asked if she minded the attention she was getting, she revealed why she didn't.
"I mean, it's kind of what I want. I'm an artist, so I'm hoping that I get a little attention or my record sales might be a little sketch," Cyrus told Lauer. "I don't ever really plan to offend people, but sometimes that just happens because I think people, they're not open to what they don't understand. But that's why when I'm singing for my fans, because they're all really young so they understand what I'm doing."
