Miley Cyrus Swatted: Singer Targeted by Dangerous Pranksters a Second Time (VIDEO)

Actress and singer Miley Cyrus has been swatted for a second time on Friday afternoon, after police received reports that a serious situation was taking place at her residence in Los Angeles.

The young singer was already the target of a so-called swatting prank last August, however, that has not stopped pranksters playing another dangerous prank on her this week.

A call was made to police on Friday night, claiming an emergency was taking place at Cyrus' house. Police rushed to the location, however, when they arrived they found nothing, and once they were satisfied no emergency was taking place they left again.

According to reports, Cyrus was not at home at the time of the incident.

Just last August Cyrus became the latest celebrity to fall victim to the dangerous prank, which involves pranksters calling 911 claiming that a dangerous emergency was taking place at a celebrity's home.

Some such pranks in the past have claimed that some celebrities had been taken hostage, and other such dramatic instances. The report would spark a large response from authorities, hence the name swatting.

In August 2012 during the original swatting prank on Cyrus, the police response was dramatic. A large group of heavily armed officers were dispatched to Cyrus' residence, and a police helicopter also attended the scene. However, Cyrus was also away from the home at the time of last year's incident.

Authorities have repeatedly pleaded with pranksters to stop the swatting reports, insisting that the calls are dangerous and a huge waste of police manpower, with resources better being used on real emergencies.

Los Angeles Police Department Commander Andrew Smith spoke out against swatting last year, saying that he predicted someone would get seriously injured during one of the pranks if they continued.

He said, "If these things continue, it's only a matter of time before a tragedy occurs. We've got talented detectives who are committed to catching people who put other people's lives at risk with these dangerous pranks."

One youngster was arrested last year in December, charged with making the prank swatting calls to police with regards to Justin Bieber and Ashton Kutcher.

Others who have been targeted in the spreading pranks have been Selena Gomez, Paris Hilton, Ryan Seacrest, Russell Brand, Justin Timberlake, and Khloe Kardashian.
