Minecraft Xbox One, PS4 Release Date Delayed Due to Technical Issues

PlayStation 4 gamers may have to wait a while before they can get the newest Minecraft game on their gaming consoles. Developer 4J Studios shared the news via Twitter last week.

"Sony found some issues we have to fix in their final test of #MinecraftPS4," 4J wrote. "We're fixing, but we need to go through the process again."

4J previously revealed that the game was sent to Sony for final testing last Aug. 12. The website reports that another wait for the same length of time could result in a September release for the game.

The pushed back release date is needed to accommodate Sony's stringent certification process, which sees each game having to go through the same process at SCEA in North America, SCEE in Europe, and SCEJ in Japan.

Meanwhile, there has been little to no news for the game's release on the Xbox One and PlayStation Vita, as 4J says that they are still trying to fix some bugs that were found in both editions.

In other news, LEGO is set to release its two Minecraft play sets later this year.

One set is called "The Cave" and has already been spotted on U.K. retailer Hamley's website and includes several Minecraft items such as the TNT, a pickaxe, Steve, a zombie, a spider, and a chest to store all the items in, according to IGN.

The other set is called "The Farm" and even has several "crops" from the game, which include sugar cane and wheat, Steve, several farm animals, a crafting table, and a skeleton.

Other Minecraft sets which will be launched at a later date will be culled from different aspects of the game, such as The Mine, The Ender Dragon, and The First Night.
