'Miracles From Heaven' Movie News: Real Annabel Beam Talks About the Miracle in Her Life

The real-life experience of Annabel Beam is another proof that miracles sometimes come disguised as tragedies. Beam was only six years old when the doctors diagnosed her with an incurable disease that left her unable to digest the food that she ate and in great deal of stress. However, in a surprising turn of events, the health issue that she was suffering from vanished into thin air after what her family thought to be another ordeal for them.

"It was just awful… every day, I would always be hurting," shared the now 13-year old Beam with Inside Edition.

It was in 2011 when the so-called "miracle from heaven" unfolded in Beam's life. One day, while she and her sister were playing and climbed a hollowed cottonwood tree. Little did the young Beam know that their simple childish leisure would lead to another unfortunate incident as she plunged 30 feet below into the hollow trunk, her head hitting the bottom first.

During the next four hours trapped inside the hollow cottonwood tree, the "miracle from heaven" started working in her life, said Annabel.

"I went to heaven. I sat on Jesus' lap and He told me, 'Annabel, when the firefighters get you out, there will be nothing wrong with you,'" she shared.

Nobody saw it coming that the accident would actually work to Beam's advantage. After the incident, her mother noticed that she no longer asked for her pain medications as often as she normally would. When she was brought to a gastroenterologist, medical tests revealed that she was no longer suffering from the disease that was earlier believed to cause her lifetime struggles.

"She was cured… absolutely, I believe it was a miracle," declared Beam's mother, Christy.

Beam's story was penned into a novel aptly titled "Miracles from Heaven," which was eventually adapted into a big-screen feature with the same title. Actress Jennifer Garner plays the role of Christy Beam, while Kylie Rogers gives life to the character of Annabel.

"Miracles from Heaven" is currently showing in U.S. theaters.
