Miranda Lambert Fans Surprised with Unexpected Show in Florida (VIDEO)
Miranda Lambert surprised her fans in Florida with an impromptu show on Saturday night.
The "Somethin' Bad" singer raised questions when her tour bused and crew arrived in Fort Walton Beach on June 14, but later in the day, Lambert shared the announcement on Twitter.
"We were on our way to Jacksonville and decided to stop in Ft. Walton Beach tonight! Come party with…" Lambert wrote, along with a photo of the billboard at The Block. The sign read "Miranda Lambert Tonight 9: 30 PM."
Consequently, hundreds of fans flocked to The Block, and by show time, the venue only offered standing-room. The two-hour concert featured Lambert singing some of her hit songs including "Fastest Girl In Town," "Over You," and "Gunpowder and Lead." Furthermore, the country music star offered some new tracks from her latest album, Platinum.
"We've been working our butts off to release our last record and traveling all over the world," Lambert told the crowd, according to the Northwest Florida Daily News. "We haven't played in a good old-fashioned club in a while. That's where we feel at home."
The unexpected stop in Fort Walton occurred along Lambert's route to Florida Country Superfest where she played on Sunday night alongside Luke Bryan, Joe Nichols and Florida Georgia Line. The busy singer will kick off her Platinum tour on July 10 in Ohio with Justin Moore and Thomas Rhett serving as opening acts.
"Platinum represents a lifestyle for me," Lambert explained of her new album title according to The Boot. "It's the color of my hair, my wedding ring, my airstream trailer, so it's just a natural fit for the name of my new album and it's why we decided to name the tour Platinum, too."
Lambert, who is married to Blake Shelton, will play 30 shows along the tour, which wraps up Sept. 20 in Honolulu.
