Only two players given 99 overall ratings to start inside 'MLB The Show 17'
Overall ratings for many of the ballplayers who will be featured inside "MLB The Show 17" were revealed recently, and fans can now find out which standouts have been given the highest marks.
First off, it was revealed that only two players have been given the overall mark of 99 inside the upcoming game.
The first of the two is none other than Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw, who even coming off an injury-plagued 2016, is still widely regarded as the best pitcher in the Majors today.

The other player sporting an overall rating of 99 in the game is Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels. Trout is fresh off yet another impressive campaign that saw him take home his second American League MVP award, further cementing his claim to being baseball's best position player.
As the Sporting News pointed out, Kershaw and Trout were also the only two recipients of 99 overall ratings in last year's edition of the "MLB The Show."
Next up, Jose Altuve of the Houston Astros also gets an impressive mark to start with inside "MLB The Show 17," as the star second baseman can boast an overall rating of 97.
Postseason star Andrew Miller of the Cleveland Indians and Kenley Jansen of the Dodgers get high marks themselves with the former landing a 96 and the latter earning a 95.
Third basemen Kris Bryant of the Chicago Cubs and Josh Donaldson of the Toronto Blue Jays both start off with overall ratings of 94.
Two more third basemen in Nolan Arenado of the Colorado Rockies and Manny Machado of the Baltimore Orioles also end up with similar marks of 93.
It is worth noting that these will likely just be the launch day ratings for the aforementioned players, as roster updates released after that could make some changes if needed.
"MLB The Show 17" is set to be released for the PS4 on March 28.
