'MLB The Show 17' News: The Different Tasks Players Need to Handle in Franchise Mode
'MLB The Show 17' players will be able to delegate their tasks in Franchise Mode
Running a Major League Baseball franchise is obviously no easy task. And now, fans can find out for themselves just how challenging this can actually be, thanks to the Franchise Mode that will be offered in "MLB The Show 17."
Developers talked more about the different things players will need to do in Franchise Mode in a recently released video.
First off, players who take part in Franchise Mode will all be expected to win games for their respective ball clubs.
Winning consistently is one way for a player to ensure employment, and this is also necessary to increase revenue and again unlock more ways to further improve the team.
Now that players know what they need to do, they can get into the finer points of their job, which calls on them to properly handle coaching, player development and general manager tasks.
Starting with the coaching tasks, these typically involve roster and injury management. Lineups and pitching staffs need to be organized here and players will have to make these moves while keeping the morale levels of the ballplayers in mind at all times.
Next up, there are also player development tasks that need to be taken care of inside "MLB The Show 17's" Franchise Mode.
Player development starts early, as proper scouting will enable fans to identify which prospects are the ones worth taking on draft day. Once a prospect has been signed, players will now have to train them properly in order to get the most out of their talents.
Finally, there are also general manager tasks that players will have to tackle. General manager tasks encompass making trades, signing free agents and even securing sponsorship deals.
If players are overwhelmed by the number of tasks they have to take on in Franchise Mode, then they can opt to delegate these to other staff members so that they can be handled better.
"MLB The Show 17" players will be able to try out this enhanced Franchise Mode once the game itself is officially released on March 28.
