Moana's Adventure Delightful Extended Promo Debuted; To Premiere on November 23 in the U.S.

Extended Spot debuted during Olympics coverage.

Disney debuted a new extended TV spot for its new animated feature Moana during Monday night's NBC Olympics coverage. The upcoming sweeping adventure set at sea revolves around Moana (Auli'i Cravalho), a teenager who sets out on a daring mission in the Pacific Ocean.

Moana and Maui's Ocean Adventure

Moana wants to become a master wayfinder like her elders who sailed the vast Pacific thousands of years ago that led to the discovery of the many islands of Oceania. Joining Moana's quest is the once powerful demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson). Together, they set out on what will turn out to be a buddy adventure comedy set in the ocean.

In Moana and Maui's action-packed voyage, they will encounter enormous monsters and beat impossible odds. Along the way, Moana will fulfill the quest of her ancestors and at the same time discovers the one thing she has been looking for all along – her own identity.

Disney's Lucky Streak

It is widely believed that Moana will continue the lucky streak that the Walt Disney Animation Studios have been having as of late. The upcoming animated film is coming on the heels of the successful Zootopia, one of the highest grossing movies of 2016. Disney Studios is also still basking in the success and glory of Frozen, which has become a true cultural touchstone for many.

The Men Behind

Moana will have for its directors longtime Disney filmmakers, Ron Clements and Jon Muskar. The latter is mainly known for his work in Aladdin and The Little Mermaid. The two enlisted Lin-Manuel Miranda, the man behind Hamilton, to help write and perform original songs for the movie. The movie could possibly hand Miranda the rare EGOT (acronym for the Emmy, Golden Globe, Oscar and Tony) awards.

Check out the delightful Moana TV spot that tells of this colorful adventure tale. Moana opens in U.S. theaters on November 23.
