'Mob Wives' Season 6: Big Ang Unresponsive to Chemotherapy
"Mob Wives" season 6 star Angela "Big Ang" Raiola has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and she has been unresponsive to chemotherapy.
On Wednesday, Big Ang's sister Janine Detore confirmed the diagnosis of stage 4 brain and lung cancer after launching a GoFundMe Page for the reality star's treatment. Detore also said her sister started undergoing therapy early January, but the doctors recently told the "Mob Wives" season 6 star that her body was not responding to the treatment, according to ABC News.
"In fact, one tumor grew larger and the other tumors had no change. We were advised that she would start immunotherapy the following week," said Detore. "Well here we are at the emergency room, waiting to see why her breathing is labored and the amount of pain she is having is by far more than she could handle."
After finding out about the disappointing news, Detore suggested using cannabis oil to help Big Ang ease her pain. In the GoFundMe page she set up, she asked friends and family members for donations to help support the reality star's treatment.
The original target of Big Ang's GoFundMe page is $25,000. In just a day, they were able to raise over $31,000.
Meanwhile, the last episode of "Mob Wives" season 6 featured a tense situation between newbies Brittany and Marissa. During a lunch date with Carla and Big Ang, the four girls talked about their families and Karen's boyfriend Storm became the subject of one conversation, the International Business Times reports.
Things turned tense when Big Ang told Brittany about a gossip about Marissa not being sure if her loyalty is with Drita or Karen. The latter is shocked by what she learned and said Marissa is just trying to destroy her ties with Karen by slandering her, the report details.
Fans will have to stay tuned to find out which side will Brittany choose and what will happen next to Big Ang.
"Mob Wives" season 6 airs every Wednesday at 8 p.m. on VH1.
