'Modern Family' Season 7 Spoilers, Plot Rumors: Alex Lies About College

More news about the upcoming season of "Modern Family" revealed that Alex will be attempting some damage control as she prepares for college.

According to TV Guide, an episode of the season will be titled "The Day Alex Left for College," which will feature Alex's, played by Ariel Winter, move to Caltech. It was reported that Alex will be ready to move in to her college. However, she does not want her parents to know exactly when she will be leaving. With that, she will give Claire, played by Julie Bowen, and Phil, played by Ty Burrell, lies regarding her move in date. This will because she wants the freedom of setting up her new space.

However, Claire and Phil will definitely be feeling lonely about seeing less of their kids now that Alex is away in college, especially since Haley has a life of her own. In addition, Luke, played by Nolan Gould, will also be going through some changes in the upcoming season.

As reported by Yahoo! TV, the co-creator of the series, Christopher Lloyd, shared some details about the changes with the Dunphy family. He explained that Phil will be more affected by the new situation, in comparison to Claire.

He said, "I think it hits Phil a little bit harder than it hits Claire, because Claire's more involved in her professional life at this point, especially as Jay starts to make some noises about retiring. She's much more immersed in her work life, but Phil takes it kind of hard."

The Dunphy family will not be the only one facing some new chapters of their lives. The second season of the series will see Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet) coping with their new challenges, since it was revealed last season that Mitch had lost his job. "Modern Family" season 7 will air every Wednesday.
