'Modern Family' season 7 plot news: Andy and Haley's relationship
The upcoming season of "Modern Family" is expected to air by the end of the month with a new dynamic between Andy and Haley.
Season 6 of Modern Family left off with Phil finding out that Andy and Haley had feelings for each other. However, they both had no idea. While Andy was on his way to propose to Beth, Haley realized that she does have feelings for Andy.
It was reported by Christopher Lloyd, show creator, that the season will present a new dynamic between Andy and Haley. He said, "Maybe a male, potentially a love interest for Haley. What would make that dynamic interesting? What about a guy that's just good, just so uncynical and guileless that Haley can't even understand him to be a human being? So that starts the wheels turning."
The season will also put focus on another relationship. It was reported that Mitch and Cam will face some struggles now that Cam has learned about Mitch's job loss. With that, the season is expected to start off with Mitch looking for a job, while Cam is the one supporting the family.
Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who plays the role of Mitch, shared some interesting insights about his character. He said, "My character starts to get a little stir crazy and kind of goes off on a tangent of trying to paint to occupy some of his free time and tap into his artistic side. Then, sort of realizes there's no money in that. Then, starts picking up random jobs here and there. The writers are giving me a lot of really fun stuff to work with this season, so far."
As for the rest of the family, Claire and Phil are also expected to have a few emotional moments now that Alex will be leaving for college. They will have their fair share of trouble after Luke develops a criminal streak, as reported by the network.
Modern Family season 7 will air this Sept. 23.
