'Modern Family' season 7 plot news: Joe goes to preschool

The upcoming season of "Modern Family" is expected to bring in more laughs, as well as sentimental moments.

It was reported that the premiere episode of "Modern Family" season 7 was titled "Summer Loving." The story will focus on the unsaid feelings of Andy, played by Adam Devine, and Haley, played by Sarah Hyland.

Christopher Lloyd, the co-creator of the series, spoke to Yahoo! TV about how Andy and Haley were perfect for each other. He said, "You know, Haley's sort of been going for more superficial guys, and I think Andy's been going for sort of more law-and-order, kind of mother types, and these are not their typical types, which makes it fun to contemplate what it would be like for them to be together."

With that, the season will surely go deeper into their relationship. It was stated that their potential for romance will continue to progress in the episodes to come.

As for the rest of the family, the season will see an older portrayal of Joe. This means that Jay, played by Ed O'Neill, and Gloria, played by Sofia Vergara, will have to prepare the little boy for preschool. The first episode of season 7 saw the two of them looking for a school, while Joe remained distracted.

However, Joe was not the only one preparing for the next chapter in his life. The upcoming season will also touch upon Alex, played by Ariel Winter, and her journey to college. It was revealed that Alex is expected to move out of the house even with her college just close by.

As for Cam, he will work hard to support Mitchell, who had just lost his job in the previous season. They are expected to struggle financially, which will have Cam devising a plan for Mitchell to get a job.

"Modern Family" season 7 will air every Wednesday on ABC.
