'Modern Family' Star Ariel Winter's Mom Sounds Off On Her Sexy Clothes: 'She's Starving For Attention'
The mother of "Modern Family" star Ariel Winter is speaking up about her daughter's sexy clothes. The young star has been the subject of criticisms on social media for her penchant for wearing and posting photos of herself in revealing outfits.
Crystal Workman told Inside Edition that her daughter should learn to dress with some class and give herself respect. She made this statement after the actress showed off her legs on the Emmy red carpet wearing a sexy gown with slits up to her thighs.
"I feel that Ariel is starving for attention," Workman, who is estranged from her daughter, said. "I feel this is a cry help from my child."

But learning about her mom's statement, as well as the public shaming she got for her choice of dress, Winter shot back on social media and ranted that she's only wearing what she likes. She denied that she's doing this to get media coverage.
"I'm not a stylist! I don't know what to wear everyday so I look 'appropriate' or 'fashionable," Winter said on Instagram. "Also, screw having to always look appropriate or fashionable. For what? Society?"
Days before this latest conflict between Winter and her mom, she revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that Workman sexualized and dressed her in sexy clothes at a tender age of seven. Her mom wanted her Hollywood star to shine sooner.
"People thought I was 24 when I was 12," she said. "If there was going to be a nude scene when I was that age, my mother would have a thousand percent said yes."
Winter also said she experienced body shaming as "Modern Family" grew popular and she was hitting puberty. People called her fat on social media but it took her a while to get comfortable with her body. She resolved she will keep posting photos of herself in clothes she loves to wear because she appreciates how she looks.
"Why stifle yourself because other people can't handle it?" the "Modern Family" star said.
