'Monster Hunter: World' News: Gameplay Footage Highlights Some of the New Features Players Can Use
Exploration, fishing among gameplay features shown in the new video
Now that the "Monster Hunter" franchise is coming to current-gen platforms next year, fans are expecting some big things from it. And from what has been seen thus far, it looks like "Monster Hunter: World" will deliver some significant improvements.
Developers recently took to the Tokyo Game Show stage to show off the newest entry in this action role-playing game series, and right away, long-time fans will notice the big changes.
First off, it was revealed that players could opt to enjoy a specific mode offering of the game that allowed them to just explore their surroundings without being burdened by any kind of quest. That was not all, as while in this mode, players could also take their time exploring, given that no time constraints will be imposed upon them.
Fishing was also demonstrated in the new gameplay video, and even this part of the game was tweaked in some ways.
It looks like developers have applied some changes to "Monster Hunter: World's" fishing component to make it more enjoyable for players to try.
To initiate fishing, it seems that players must first find a spot suitable for it by checking to see if fishes are visible in the water. Players will need to keep track of which lures they use as fishes may react differently to them. Also, they are going to have to choose where they cast their lures.
The video also showed the player getting into a fight with one of the game's larger monsters, and it was a particularly eventful encounter. Players will be able to use things in their surroundings now to subdue and slay monsters, and that should help them out of some tough spots.
Fans should be able to hear more about the other new features that will be included in "Monster Hunter: World" soon, and the game itself is set to be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Jan. 26 with a PC version due out later.
