More Bethesda Games Are Coming to the Nintendo Switch

The upcoming release of "Doom" and "Wolfenstein: The New Colossus" on the Nintendo Switch is just the beginning of what Bethesda Game Studios hopes to achieve in the console.

The studio's vice president of marketing and communications Pete Hines stated in an interview with Venture Beat that they intend to release more Nintendo Switch titles.

We've been in constant conversation with [Nintendo and not just about the two games we have now, but about our whole approach to the platform going forward — what we can do, best practices, what things are a good fit, what they're excited about in what we're doing. We're obviously excited about [Doom and Wolfenstein: The New Colossus], but it's not as if we're going to just do these two games and that's it. We want this to be the start of a relationship that we build with Nintendo and Nintendo fans.

That being said, it would seem that Bethesda is in it for the long haul with the Nintendo Switch so fans have no reason to worry about seeing the last of the studio in the platform.

Apart from "Doom" and "Wolfenstein: The New Colossus," Bethesda is also bringing "Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim," one of its most popular series of late, to the console as well.

Hines also gushed about the portability feature of the Nintendo Switch, which is something rival consoles do not offer. Bringing the console anywhere to continue playing is something that the Bethesda executive appreciates.

Indeed, the idea of taking a massive, graphics-heavy game like "Skyrim" wherever players go is definitely something unique to the Nintendo console and it looks like Bethesda will continue to take advantage of that in the next games that they plan to release for the console.

"Wolfenstein: The New Colossus" arrives on the Switch on Oct. 27 while "Doom" drops around holiday. Gamers can watch it in all its 30 frames per second (fps) glory below.
