'Mortal Kombat X' Character: Announced On Who's Next Coming at The Game Awards

Another "Mortal Kombat X" character, or characters, will be revealed before the week is over. "Mortal Kombat" co-creator Ed Boon will be attending The Game Awards on Thursday, Dec. 3, where he will announce an exclusive reveal of "Who's Next."

"Really looking forward to attending @thegameawards on Thursday with the exclusive reveal of "Who's Next" in MKX !!" Boon tweeted on Monday.

Naturally, speculations from fans and followers flooded his tweet. Some say the new characters could be Reiko, Rain, Sindel, Baraka, Fujin, Skarlet, Smoke, Kintaro, and many more. Meanwhile, others are just saying they want to have this or that character next.

NetherRealm has been using "Who's Next" to introduce new characters. In a previous "Who's Next" teaser, the developer announced at least four character reveals in 2016. GameSpot presumes one of the silhouetted characters in the "Who's Next" teaser above will be revealed, but no one can be sure. Everyone will have to wait for The Game Awards, where Boon and developer NetherRealm will reveal one or more "Mortal Kombat X" characters.

In addition to the "Mortal Combat X" character reveal and 10 on-stage awards, organizers have also announced a total of 10 world premieres. Other developers will also have their own reveals. Confirmed reveals include an announcement from Oculus Rift founder Palmer Luckey and gameplay footages from "Far Cry Primal," Xbox One-exclusive "Quantum Break," and more.

The Game Awards will air live from LA at 6 p.m. PST / 9 p.m. EST.

"Mortal Kombat X," which is dubbed as "the most brutal Mortal Kombat experience ever," was released in April and playable on the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Previous DLC characters have included Tanya, Predator, Jason Voorhees, and Tremor.
