'Mortal Kombat X' Kombat Pack 2 DLC Will Tie Into Live-Action Web Series; New Fighter To Appear At ESL Finals
By now, "Mortal Kombat" fans are well aware that four new characters are set to appear in the Kombat Pack 2 of "Mortal Kombat X." But while all fans have seen is the reveal video, they will soon be able to watch at least one of the new fighters in action for the first time.
NetherRealm Studios community specialist Tyler Lansdown recently announced via Twitter that there will be a special Kombat Kast broadcast at the ESL MKX finals on Jan. 24.
It has not been revealed which new character will be seen during the live stream.

The new fighters joining the "Mortal Kombat" tournament are Leatherface from the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" franchise, Xenomorph from the "Alien" franchise, Bo Rai Cho from "Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance," and Tri-Borg, a cyborg fighter based on the "Mortal Kombat" characters Sektor, Cyrax, and Robot Smoke.
Meanwhile, the "Mortal Kombat X" Kombat Pack 2 DLC is reportedly set to pair with a live-action web series coming out in 2016. The news comes directly from the man who will be directing the web series, Garrett Warren, who recently confirmed via Twitter that the series, which previous rumors say may be called "Mortal Kombat: Generations," is "scheduled to be released early next year."
The upcoming series lines up neatly with the rollout of the Kombat Pack 2 and may explain the interesting DLC character choices. The new "Mortal Kombat" series is said to pick up where "Mortal Kombat: Legacy" left off. Rumors suggest that "Mortal Kombat" characters Takeda, Cho, Cassie Cage, and Erron Black will appear in the series.
"Mortal Kombat X" was announced in June 2014 and became available on April 14, 2015 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. There are also iOS and Android versions of the tenth main installment of the popular "Mortal Kombat" series.
