"Mortal Kombat X" News: Xbox 360 and PS3 Cancelled
After months of delay in the game's development, Warner Brothers Interactive has finally announced that it is no longer releasing versions of "Mortal Kombat X" for older generation consoles - the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. According to a report in GameSpot, Warner Bros. issued a statement saying that they were "not able to get the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions to the quality expected of a Mortal Kombat game and are very sorry for not being able to deliver the products as originally planned."
In the statement, they also said that their development team worked very hard to try and meet the standards of the game that were set by the current-gen versions.
The older-generation versions of the game were supposed to have been released together with the Xbox One, PS4 and PC versions last April 2015. Warner Bros. hoped that they could work on it some more and delayed it to the summer, and then later on, to the fall of 2015.

According to the report, those who placed pre-orders for the game will be eligible for refunds, through the game store they placed the pre-order.
"Mortal Kombat X" is a fighting video game created and developed by NetherRealm and published by Warner Bros. Interactive. The original game version was for current-generation consoles. Another developer, High Voltage Software, was tasked with working on the PC version and the versions for older generation consoles. Only the PC version made it.
The reason behind the cancellation as cited in the report is mainly the "power limitations" of last-generation hardware, as well as its limited hard drive space, which is required in most new video games.
