Moto Droid Turbo 2 Release Date, Details: GCF Certification Surfaces Online
The Global Certification Forum (GCF) just recently released certification for a certain Motorola handset that bears the model number of XT1585. Apparently, the news pointed to the yet to be announced Motorola DROID Turbo 2.
Citing the details shared by PhoneArena.com, the date of certification was August 8 of this year and was published earlier this week. It has the GCF reference number of 5267.
The mentioned device was rumoured back then to be a Verizon branded version of the Motorola X Force. According to Phone Arena, the unit is expected to have an unbreakable 5.4-inch screen with a 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution.
Underneath, the smartphone boasts a Snapdragon 810 chipset with 3GB worth of RAM and it comes with a choice of 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. On board, the device was heard to sport a hefty 3,760mAh battery.
Back in June, however, there were reports pointing towards a device that people who have knowledge of the project have nicknamed the Motorola Kinzie. The latter was reported to feature a 5.5-inch screen with a 1440 x 2560 resolution. Under the hood, it carries an octa-core 1.9GHz CPU with a 3GB amount of RAM and boasting a 20MP/5MP primary and front snapper combo.
Looking closely at the details, both the Kinzie and the Verizon brand phones carry a similar spec. It remains to be seen how the XT1585 unit will fit in to the rumor.
As for the release date of the purported phone, the report, this time coming from the International Business Times, said that it will probably have an October outing date. The original DROID Turbo phone was also released in the same October timeframe last year. Adding to the hype is this new GCF certification which further solidifies the speculations that the Motorola handset will get launched this month.
