Moto X4 Specs, Price Reviews: Mid-Range Phone Sits in Between Motorola's Budget and Flagship Models
This coming Oct. 26, Motorola will be releasing their newest smartphone, the Moto X4.
The handset sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor, 3 GB of RAM, IP68 water resistance, and a 3,000mAh battery. It also supports Bluetooth 5.0 and has a 3.5mm headphone jack next to the handset's USB Type-C charging port.
While the Snapdragon 630 processor is admittedly not at the same level as Qualcomm's high-end 835 chip, it is already able to provide users with a smooth experience as they complete their everyday tasks on the Moto X4.

In a review written by Pete Pachal, a Tech Editor for Mashable, the Moto X4 is said to be a "very respectable phone" despite its affordability at only $400. Although there are some features that he did not like, he did say that there are also other features that are found in premium smartphones.
In fact, it is the first phone under Google's Android One program that will be shipped in the United States. This means that the Moto X4, which currently runs in Nougat, comes with guaranteed prompt software updates, which means that it can definitely be upgraded to Oreo and Android P.
Also, according to Pachal, the handset feels and looks like a premium phone, with its 5.2-inch screen in sharp resolution that makes pictures and videos look more vibrant, even when viewed at off-angles.
According to TechRadar's verdict, the Moto X4 is a mid-range handset. Although it is equipped with Android One and Google Fi, it is considered as a non-major upgrade if a user has been using a Moto G5 Plus or Moto G5S Plus. Plus, its specs are also apparently far from that of the models in the Moto Z line, making it land somewhere in between Motorola's budget phones and flagship offerings.
On the other hand, the publication listed its long battery life and great camera quality as two of its strongest points, while its price and overall quality, compared to the company's previous Moto X models, were two of its weakest points.
Considering that Google is now fully committed to the Pixel brand and has announced that they no longer have plans to come up with more Nexus products in the future, Android One phones, like the Moto X4, will be the closest thing that users could get to the Nexus line.
