Motorola Moto G Turbo Edition Arriving in India, Specs Include 5-Inch Display, Snapdragon 615, 13 MP Camera

Motorola fans from India will have a reason to celebrate this week as the telecommunications company announced that they are releasing their latest device called the Moto G Turbo Edition.

According to a report by The Indian Express, Motorola India has been teasing photos on its Twitter account all week in the effort of making noise for the upcoming smartphone.

First launched in Mexico the previous month, the Moto G Turbo Edition is said to be officially introduced to the Indian Market on Dec. 9 and may go on pre-order on the same day. There's no detail yet how much it will cost but Softpedia speculated that the device will be available for purchase for around $285, which is the same price of the Mexican variant. It is also not detailed which retail store it will be available at but it might be exclusive to Flipkart.

As noted in PC-Tablet, the mid-range Moto G Turbo sports a 5-inch HD IPS display with 1920 X 1080 pixels resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. It will be equipped with a Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 chipset and dual processors with Adreno 405 graphics. It will also come with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, as detailed by Tech 2. It will have a microSD card slot for internal memory storage expansion.

As for the camera, the device will flaunt a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel selfie snapper. It will also have the usual connectivity options like 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, 3G, GPS, microUSB and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. Powering it up will be a 2470 mAh battery pack and will run with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. There are some reports that say that the mobile will ship Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.

The Moto G Turbo Edition is also expected to support fast charging. But a highlight feature is the IP67 resistant which allows the handset to be submerged in 1 meter of water for half an hour. It has been tried and tested and it will continue to work without any issues.
