Moto X (2015) Specs, Release Date: Meet Moto's Top Flagship to Take On Other High-End Android Phones
Last week, Motorola finally announced its trio of devices - the Moto X Style, the Moto X Play, and the Moto G (2015). Among these smartphones, the clear flagship is the Moto X (2015) Pure Edition, more popularly known as the Style.
While the device was already announced, a report from Gizmag states that the Motorola flagship won't arrive until September this year.
Here are some of the device's notable specs and features:
Display
The Moto X Style is a beast in the resolution category, boasting a QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution for its 5.7-inch display. Comparing it to last year's model, this year's Moto X was definitely built not as a cheaper alternative to Samsung or LG, but a direct competitor.
Performance
There are no Moto X Style handsets yet to test everyday usage, but based on the smartphone's specs, the device will surely be a multi-tasker with its 3GB of RAM, and a flagship killer with its Snapdragon 808 chipset with hexa-core CPU.
Camera
This is where the new Motorola flagship has immensely upgraded. From the 13MP shooter of the Moto X (2014), the new Moto X Style now has a 21MP rear-view snapper that is expected to take among the best snapshots in the business. There is also a 5MP front camera for all those selfie lovers.
Battery and Storage
The freshly announced device has several storage options ranging from 16GB, 32GB, up to 64GB of built-in memory. Another addition is the inclusion of a microSD card slot for further expansion of storage. The device has a 3,000mAh battery, which is 700mAh more than the previous model. Unfortunately, the battery is still non user-replaceable.
Based on the report by Gizmag, the Motorola Moto X Style will retail at only $399, which is very cheap for a flagship Android device of this caliber and quality.
