'Mr. Robot 'Season 3 News and Updates: Third Season Officially On; High Level Hacking Expected
The hit show, Mr. Robot, is officially extended for its third season. The show will be back on USA Network according to the big announcement made on Tuesday.
Renewal of a Third Season Confirmed
The president of NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, Chris McCumber, stated in a report that the show has made it big for them. For just in the middle of the season, the second installment of the series has opened doors for the network. He also added that they are excited to see where the show will lead the audience to.
Jeff Wachtel, chief content officer of the NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, also said that having Mr. Robot is a different experience and completely unforgettable. He added that the show always takes fans to a different level.
Furthermore, showrunner Sam Esmail was a newcomer in the first season of the series, but made a significant debut as someone who did the show by himself. In the second season, Esmail moved up to a higher level by being the director of all the episodes.
Rami Malek is the lead star of "Mr. Robot", an IT genius who was led into a group of hackers. The group will hack the system of corporate America.
The TV series has already gained one Peabody Award and won two Golden Globe Awards. During the 2016 Emmy awards, the show garnered six nominations. These include the nomination for Best Drama Series and Malek's nomination in the Lead Actor Category.
Aside from Esmail directing all the episodes for the second season, the network has given him the freedom to give out what is best for the series.
The Production
Regarding the renewal of the show for its third season, Esmail has noted before that the series will have a maximum of five seasons. He added that the show must end the right way so it won't seem dragging for people to see. With its third installment, we could say that the show is in the middle and nearing its end.
The show's cast includes Christian Slater (Mr. Robot), Portia Doubleday (Angela Moss) and Carly Chaikin (Darlene). Other stars are Martin Wallstrom (Tyrell Wellick), Grace Gummer (Dominique DiPierro), Michael Cristofer (Phillip Price and Stephanie Corneliussen (Joanna Wellick). Aside from directing, Esmail is also the executive producer of the show, together with Steve Golin and Chad Hamilton.
Season 3 will be on a higher level of hacking and "Mr. Robot" will be in for more challenges. The show has been confirmed to have a third season and will premiere in 2017.
