'Mr. Robot' Season News, Cast, Spoilers: Showrunner Ready to Consider Suggestions from Fans

USA definitely foresaw the success of "Mr. Robot," as it had already given the show a second season even before the first season aired. However, high expectations bring great pressure for the show to only be better when it returns. Keeping fans happy is probably top priority for showrunner Sam Esmail as he recently showed his willingness to consider fans' ideas in the upcoming season.

Deadline reports that Esmail, alongside the show's leading actors Christian Slater (Mr. Robot) and Rami Malek (Elliot Anderson) had been more than open with the fans in a USA event held in Los Angeles. During the panel, someone suggested that Elliot should come face-to-face with drug lord Fernando Vera in the upcoming season to get revenge for Shayla's death. Esmail seemed to have genuinely liked the idea and replied, "We have the writers in the room tonight; we'll consider that pitch."

As expected, Esmail was asked to reveal what's in store in the next season, but the creator and head writer of "Mr. Robot" kept a tight lid on the details. There was one question, though, that he did address which was about Mr. Robot's ability to talk to other people in his son's life, despite being only a part of Elliot's imagination. Esmail assured everyone, as he said, "We'll specifically address that scene in the second season."

Esmail also took the chance to praise Malek for his portrayal of vigilante hacker Elliot Anderson. He believes that Malek made the whole show work. He shares, "I'm listening to all these great actors (during the audition), and what they had wasn't working at all. Then Rami comes in and added this warmth. It changed everything. He added a vulnerability to Elliot. I wanted to hug Elliot and say, 'Don't go away and stop talking.' Rami is a big owner in this character I created."

As of now, there is no official announcement for the premiere of the second season, but it is expected to air in 2016.
