Muppets Blast Fox News For 'Brainwashing' Comments
The Muppets have finally had a chance to respond to a Fox News report that questioned if the latest Muppet movie was brainwashing youth into a liberal agenda against capitalism.
At a Thursday press conference at The May Fair Hotel in London the Muppets were asked about their feelings regarding the Fox news allegations.
One reporter asked Kermit, "I've got to ask you how you felt when- I think it was Eric Bolling from Fox News said it was pushing a dangerous liberal agenda and trying to brainwash children."
"Oh yeah, it's so dangerous," Kermit responded.
"It's a funny thing- they were concerned about us having some prejudice against oil companies and that I can tell you categorically not true. And besides if we had a problem with oil companies, why would we have spent the entire film driving around in a gas-guzzling Rolld Royce?" Kermit asked.
Miss Piggy threw her two cents in adding, "It's almost as laughable as accusing Fox News as, you know, being news."
Back in December on the network's "Follow the Money" show, host Eric Bolling was joined by conservative Media Research Center's Dan Gainor where they discussed the storyline of the new film, "The Muppets."
The news host and his guest argued that the Muppet's storyline, which includes an evil oil baron named Tex Richman, was the latest example of Hollywood pushing a liberal agenda.
"The Muppets are back and being terrorized by an evil oil executive in their new movie. Liberal Hollywood depicting a successful businessman as evil - that's not new," Bolling said before announcing the Gainor to his show.
"It's amazing how far the left will go just to manipulate your kids, to convince them, give the anti-corporate message. I mean this is a Muppet movie for goodness sakes, the only thing green that should be up on that screen should be Kermit the frog," Gainor said on the air.
