Museum of Ice Cream to Open in New York at End of July: Details for Free Admission, Tickets and Must-Try Ice Cream Flavors
If you once imagined yourself in a place with pastel-themed colors, chocolate rooms, and a pool of rainbow sprinkles, good news! A museum filled with your favorites ice cream scoops is finally coming to town on July 29.
The Museum of Ice Cream is set to open in New York City, and packed with a sweet, sugary theme, it could be the best way to experience all things ice cream.
This "modern, whimsical urban ice cream playground" is said to be filled with edible balloons, giant ice cream sundaes, ice cream scooper-looking playgrounds, immersive chocolate rooms and a swimmable pool of inedible rainbow sprinkles.
Ticketing Details
On its grand opening day, the museum will be offering free admission from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aside from this, free ice cream will also be given in a first-come, first-served basis.
Tickets to the museum are available at Museum of Ice Cream's website, and you can pick your own schedule to visit. The single adult admission with ice cream is priced at $18. If going to the museum with a friend or family member, the double ticket with ice cream for two adults costs $30. Special prices are given to children and senior citizens with the mini ticket admission at $12. Children under 3 are free of charge and must be accompanied by adults.
Tickets will be available for all sessions. Online ticket holders will be admitted first. Tickets can be printed or presented via mobile phones.
Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
About Black Tap and OddFellows
The museum will offer Scoop of the Week, and it will feature ice cream creations from the city's best arbiters of cool treats such as the Black Tap and OddFellows Ice Cream Co.
OddFellows is known for their ice cream sandwiches layered with crunchy elements. They offer a long list of fresh, tasty and unique flavors that will surely make your mouth water. Tahitian Vanilla, Coffee Crunch and Chocolate Chunk are some of their basic offerings. You can also trying out their more creative ice cream flavors such as Buttermilk Spiced Apple, Lemon, Honey and Ginger, Black Chocolate Stout, Beet Goat Cheese and Candied Pistachio.
Meanwhile, The Black Tap, located in Soho and Meatpacking, is known for their burger creations and extravagant milkshakes.
The best of their ice cream-based milkshakes are the following: Black Tap Cookie Milkshake, Black Tap Cotton Candy Milkshake and Black Tap Red Velvet Milkshake.
Schedule
The museum will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. every Sunday. The museum is closed every Tuesday.
The Museum of Ice Cream will be located at 100 Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District. It will only be available, however, from July 29 to August 31.
