'My Hero Academia' Game Latest News: New Trailer Released; Title to Also Launch in the West
Bandai Namco just released a new trailer that has fans of the popular anime show and manga series "My Hero Academia" excited. In the new clip, the publisher showed a preview of a new game being developed for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, which is now confirmed to have a version for the western audiences.
The game has a working title of "My Hero Game Project," and was also recently confirmed to be coming to the Xbox One and PC later on, to cover more platform options when it launches in the West according to Gamespot.
Like the trailer shows, it's an action adventure game set in sprawling destructible areas, and features two of the main characters of the anime series. The game is set to release sometime next year.
"Fight, for every justice—. 'My Hero Academia' appears as a battle action game where 'Quirks' collide!" Bandai Namco described the game, as quoted by Comicbook.
"Experience diverse battles on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch through realistic stage destruction by using superhuman powers called 'Quirks,' and take full advantage of the buildings and walls placed throughout the stage," the description continued.
So far, two characters have been confirmed for the game, which also has a tentative title of "My Hero Academia: One's Justice." The first is Izuki Midoriya, (voiced by Daiki Yamashita) the young boy who is also the main hero in the anime show.
Izuki is born "Quirkless," the term for the rare people who did not develop powers on their own, like most of the population in the world of "My Hero Academia" do at some point. He has shown the most important qualities of a hero, though, prompting a mysterious figure to bestow on him the "One For All" quirk.
The other is Tomura Shigaraki, (voiced by Kouki Uchiyama) a villain with a mysterious past and an unpredictable personality. All that's known about him is that he plans to kill the hero All Might, and claims to be the leader of the League of Villains.
